Being vegan doesn’t mean you have to miss out on pizza!
I usually use the pizza dough recipe from Vegan with a Vengeance (you can find the recipe here, but I highly recommend getting a copy of the book!). A nice addition to this recipe is some dried mixed herbs, I add them all the time now :) Some supermarkets sell ready made pizza bases that are suitable for vegans, just check the ingredients, but making your own is MUCH more fun.
Once you’ve made the base, you can use whatever toppings you like!
I normally use tomato & garlic puree and Redwood Super Melting Mozzarella Style Cheezly OR Redwoods Soy Free Cheezly and whatever fruit/veggies I have lying around! Beef tomatoes, onions, chestnut mushrooms, pineapples, sweetcorn and courgette are some of my favourites. Another good option is to chop up a couple of veggie sausages for the topping too, my boyfriend is a big fan of mock meats, but I prefer to stick to tonnes of veggies :D
Also, pizza is still good without any “cheese” at all! (See third photo) I’ve made “cheese” free pizza for vegan outreach stalls, and it went down well with numerous omnivores! Just make your pizza base, fry some interesting veg, then top the base with tomato puree, add the veggies, sprinkle with some paprika and throw it in the oven!
Now, go have a pizza party!!!
